Over the summer, we are putting together a weekly blog series on some of the big ideas touched upon by those who write, study and think about the security implications of emerging and foreseen technology. You can expect everything from technological determinism to cyborgs- and you can expect all of this to start dropping into your feed next week.
In the meantime, why not sit back and enjoy a series which you should really have caught up on by now (it first aired in 1992). A magisterial six parter ‘Pandora's Box, A Fable From the Age of Science’- from the serial documentary maker Adam Curtis. The series is great because of the range of roles technology plays. With technology cast as a tool, as an embodiment of an increasingly control and rationality obsessed culture, as an elixir of transformation and progress, and finally as a creation, which seems to constantly escape the grip of it's creators. But I won’t wax lyrical any further - take a look for yourself. And Feel free to yell at us about it @techsecbath
